Established since 1850, the Alain Geoffroy estate is a family business growing around 50 hectares of vines and producing Chablis wines that uphold the tradition and authenticity of the terroir: fresh and fruity wines with a great mineral imprint.
Today, at the Alain Geoffroy estate, we continue to take good care of our vines so that they give us not simply thirst-quenching wines but subtle and elegant Chablis. All our Chablis are produced on Kimmeridgian geological zones (Jurassic period): our wine’s aromatic richness and strong mineral content comes from this incredible potential of the soil.GRAPE VARIETY: Chardonnay 100 % AGE OF THE VINEYARD: 10 years GEOLOG: Kimmeridgian EXPOSURE: Due south WINE-MAKING PROCESS: Temperature controlled tanks MATURING: Temperature controlled tanks AGEING: From 2 to 5 years or more depending on vintage
Tasting Note: Golden, shiny, radiant and limpid colour. The nose is dense and fragrant with subtle vanilla and spicy, dried and fresh fruit notes… a pretty demonstrative and delicate nose. Both rich and fine, with subtle spicy and toasted notes, a flavoursome taste successfully combining mineral tones and richness, ending with remarkable complexity where the woodiness supports the wine.
