The 2013 Stonestreet Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a pure reflection of our high-elevation vineyard estate, showcasing the wide variety of facings, soils and flora found on its primary ridge. Vibrant aromas of brambly blackberry, black currant, smoky tobacco leaf, and sage dominate, while underneath one finds subtle undertones of white peppercorn and dried cranberry. The palate offers dark, savory flavors of plum compote, black cherry, dried Herbs de Provence, and a touch of vanilla bean, enveloped in the fine tannins that extend the wine through a lengthy cocoa-powder laden finish.
  • As a blend of our best Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard sites, the Estate bottling is one of the most compelling illustrations of the Stonestreet Mountain. Winemaker Lisa Valtenbergs blends this wine with shrewd precision, balancing aromatic intrigue, texture and the Mayacamas' signature structural elements into a pure refection of the vintage. The 2016 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon starts out with savory aromas of blackberry, dark plum, blood orange, Star Anise and black cherry. As the wine opens, deep fruit favors of blackberry cobbler, dried cherry, pomegranate, cassis and milk chocolate begin to show. The palate is rich and inviting with framed tannins, incredible length and plenty of concentration.

Stonestreet Estate Vineyards stand on the western ridge of the Mayacamas Mountains towering over the Alexander Valley below. High elevations, volcanically derived soils and cooling maritime breezes give us a unique location from which to pursue the quest of mountain winegrowing. Of the 5,100 acres that make up the Estate, only 900 are planted to grapes (235 individual vineyard blocks) while the remaining land retains its natural biodiversity and abounds with streambeds and ancient oaks, providing a habitat to cougars, owls and black bears.

“Dark cherry, plum, mocha, licorice, spice and gravel are all pushed forward… plenty of the typical savory/graphite notes that are so typical of this site.”
