This well balanced 100% Grenache wine is beauty in a glass. Paying homage to the South of France and benefitting from a Mediterranean climate, the resulting wine shows a translucent salmon pink colour with a watery hue followed by elegant red fruit with aromas of raspberry on the nose. A concentrated impression paired nicely with all things summer.
Southern France has a history of 2000 years as one of the most significant grape growing areas in the world. In the past 20 years in particular, the region has been sparked by wines of extraordinary quality due to a renewed respect for what the fruit is capable of, coupled with cutting edge viticulture and winemaking that the grapes deserve. The warmer climates coupled with the maritime location produces wines that are more full bodied and rich in flavours and textures. Consistency and value for money is another hallmark of this region.
IGP Pays d’Oc - South of France. This region benefits from the Mediterranean climate. With its coastline bordering the region in the South, it provides hot and dry summers for a perfect maturity. On the other side, the Black Mountain brings enough humidity and cool temperatures for the vineyards to produce grapes packed with delicate aromatics. The patchwork of varied terroir in this region produces a unique expression of the Grenache grape.
The grapes are harvested at night when the temperatures are low to prevent oxidation. Following the saignée process, the juice remains in contact with the skins for a short time, allowing the wine to absorb all the aromas from the skin, and to gain its beautiful colour. The fermentation is then carried out at low temperature to retain these subtle fruit characters. The wine stays on its fine lees at least two months and is stirred periodically, providing generosity in texture.
PALATE
Rich and smooth with delicate spice and Turkish delight flavours. Long finish that has hints of strawberry sorbet. A mouthful of sheer delight!.
A slightly plusher style in 2019, offering lovely mid palate roundness with bright cherry, strawberry and white stone fruits. Well balanced by a vibrant acidity, this moreish rosé finishes dry with a subtle spice.
