The 2017 vintage has a bouquet which is distinctly Pinot Noir with strawberry and cherry fruits. Hints of charry French oak complete the aromas. The front palate has vibrant berry fruits, which lead into an elegant and structured palate. Savoury complexity, quality French oak and fine grain tannins combine together, resulting in a fine and long finish.
Pinot Noir is well suited to the cool climate of the Great Southern. Our Pinot Noir fruit comes from the 3drops' Patterson's vineyard which was planted in 1982.

95 Points - James Halliday 3000 drops in this pinot noir that, like its '16 sibling, is full of varietal character and complexity - no pussy footing around here. It has dark cherry and forest berry flavours, then some whole bunch/forest floor adding yet more to a pinot that offers tiptop cellaring options as its aftertaste offers yet more to the mix.
93/100 - Ray Jordan, The West Australian This is one of the best pinots yet from this small Great Southern producer. Its medium bodied and deceptively powerful. aromas of perfumed strawberry, nutmeg and spices. The palate is rich and supple, with light powdery tannins and excellent charry oak. the palate extends to a very long finish. Has a slightly funky character adding to the complexity on the palate. 93/100. Best drinking now to 2024." Ray Jordan, The West Australian Saturday ,1 July 2018.
