"This is a delicious wine, defined by a judicious hand of reduction, imparting tension to the cavalcade of blue and dark fruit allusions, iodine, aniseed and the billow of creamy toned oak. Smooth as, with enough grip to impart a drinkability and a second or third glass. Not always an easy feat for a full-bodied wine from this neck of the woods."

Shiraz from our estate vineyard adopts more of a cooler climate expression than the typical McLaren Vale style thanks to the vineyard’s elevation and cooling night breezes from the nearby Southern Lofty Ranges, but retains concentration and complexity.

  • Flavours of ripe plums and other dark berries are layered with liquorice, pepper and fresh spices, these marry beautifully with subtle oak nuances giving a complex wine balanced by smooth round tannins.

Our Generations Wines celebrate multiple generations of family involvement and grower relationships. Shiraz was the first red grape variety planted in Langhorne Creek at Bleasdale in 1858 and continues to thrive today. Individual vineyard blocks are picked and crushed separately before maturation and blending.

De-stemmed to open fermenters, for a short soak. Fermentation peak at 30°C with up to 4 pump overs per day. Drained & pressed after 8 to 12 days on skins, settled for 24 hours before racking to oak for MLF.
