"Powerful wine. Loud fruit flavours of blackberry and cranberry. These flavours have a lovely juiciness though, adding freshness to what is a rich, uncompromising style. There are subtle signs of spice and clove and smoky, cedar-like oak. It’s a very pure, clean, precise wine – I under-rated it at first, but with some air the detail and precision of the finish, in particular, came to impress me. I would not be surprised if this deserves a higher rating in time."

- Georgia’s Paddock Shiraz uses fruit grown on the 12-hectare, dry-grown, ungrafted Georgia’s Paddock, farmed using organic principles. After vinification the wine is matured in new (20%) and seasoned French oak barriques. Dark cherry, blackberry and mocha, fruit, plush yet vigorous chocolatey ripe tannins, generosity, depth and mineral length are hallmarks of this thoroughbred Heathcote style.

"Very deep purple-black in color, the 2009 Georgia's Paddock Shiraz gives expressive gamey / savory notes, revealing aromas of peppered pigeon breast, coffee beans, smoky bacon, black truffles and black olives over creme de cassis and loam. Medium-full bodied, it is tautly structured with high acid and firm, chewy tannins, possessing muscular flesh and a long earthy finish."
