Ripe peach, figs and roasted nuts bound with hints of lemon peel and a delicate floral character. The warm season exhibits riper fruit characters and less citrus than typical, although acidity remains crisp and bright.

  • Clones 15 and Mendoza were selectively handpicked and whole bunch pressed. During a long, slow fermentation the wine remained in barrels for 15 months.

    Bright pale straw colour with green hues, pale on rim. This has a full and voluminous nose with harmoniously concentrated aromas of ripe citrus fruits and white stonefruits melded with layers of creamy and nutty barrel-fermentation elements, unfolding spicy and toast oak elements, along with flinty lees and refreshing mineral nuances. Medium-full bodied, the wine is fresh, vibrant and lively with mouthfilling flavours of white and yellow stonefruits, citrus fruits, harmoniously entwined with layers of spicy and nutty oak, toasty elements and flinty detail. The wine flows along a fine-textured line, driven by bright and crisp acidity. This has excellent tension and drive, the acidity carrying the wine to a very long, tightly concentrated, dry finish of citrus fruits, flint and nuts. This is a vibrant, complex Chardonnay with layers of stonefruit, nutty and spicy oak flavours and a crisp and lively mouthfeel. Serve with roast seafood and creamy poultry and pork dishes over the next 4-5 years. Hand-picked fruit, predominantly clone 15 with some Mendoza and clone 95 from the ‘Johnson B’ block, WBP and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 40% oak then transferred to older oak for a further 4 months maturation, the wine undergoing 100% MLF.
