Sourced from a small selection of our favourite Semillon blocks, the grapes were both hand and machine picked before gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then spent a few months on yeast lees to gain extra complexity and mouth feel.
Vintage Conditions The 2017 Semillon vintage was one of the best in recent memory and has produced wines of the highest quality. Solid rains in winter and spring meant the vines had constant access to water and the warmer weather in the new year meant all of the fruit was in near perfect condition and ripeness when it was harvested. Winemaker’s Notes Sourced entirely from our HVD Vineyard, the grapes were machine picked in the cool of the night before gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then spent a few months on yeast lees to gain extra complexity and mouth feel.

RALPH KYTE-POWELL, SYDNEY MORNING HERALD 94 Points - A classic regional wine from a great maker, this semillon has a ripe, appealing nose of unusual concentration. Apple, lemon, melon and wax meet the nose, and it tastes deliciously intense and zesty. (Screw cap; 11 per cent alcohol). Ageing? Drink over six years. Food idea: Grilled fish with lemon and pepper sauce.
GARY WALSH, WINE FRONT 94 Points - Lemon barley, lemongrass, talc and ester perfume. There’s a softness and roundness to the acidity here that’s very appealing, which along with ample lemon/lime flavour and a delightful chalky texture, makes it immediately appealing. It’s long too. A lot of wine for your money here.
