Tyrrell's Wines Special Release Hunter Valley Shiraz Pinot Noir 2019 (6 Bottles)

Tyrrell’s Special Release is reserved for unique parcels of fruit that in a particular vintage have those qualities and point of difference to warrant being bottled and released on their own. Special Release Shiraz Pinot Noir is a blend of Shiraz (60%) from our Baulkham Vineyard and Pinot Noir (40%) from our 4 & 8 Acres Vineyard. Both are planted on heavy red clay soils over limestone. Both wines were fermented and matured separately, both in older oak of varying sizes. 2019 was the third strong red vintage in succession in the Hunter Valley, the continued dry conditions from previous years have produced elegant wines with great balance and freshness. Floral, bright red fruit flavours with a touch of spice and incredible drinkability, this is a modern interpretation of the great Hunter River Burgundies made famous in the mid-1900s. Reviews

The Special Release label is reserved for one-off wines of merit, here a 60/40% blend. It's a fragrant wine that is deceptively elegant, its spiced red and black infusion of berry fruits suggesting it is ready now. However that may be, 10 years in bottle will result in a special wine.
