"It’s juicy, ultra keen, thirst-slaking/thirst-inducing kind of stuff" - Wine Front

Floral characters on the nose such as lavender and daises accompany lime, musk, a hint of salted caramel and a pinch of lavender. Waves of basalt float across the palate. Delicate hints of kiwifruit, quince and crisp fuji apples linger on the palate.

  • Jen Gardner and Col McBryde are VineMind. It's an interesting tale, on the surface not unlike the swathe of other wineries out there. A family history. Jen's folks bought a vineyard, Jen like every other 10 year old, hated picking grapes. Col got kicked out of home because he got a tattoo, thus needed a job and got said job in a winery. A rather shady number of years of experience followed...

VineMind is a departure from the stoicism of Clare (although we may be responsible for some of that too). In 2013 they started making a few things that challenged them, in 2015 they released something and they're still working intently on it. They work closely with a small group of grape growers (from recent plantings of Vermentino in Watervale to 100 year old Shiraz vines from a vineyard that rhymes with Maberfeldy). This is VineMind. Hopefully it can evoke some thought about wine for you too.Sub Region: Watervale, Clare Valley, South Australia
Winemaking: Hand picked, whole bunch pressed, fermented in concrete, then aged on lees in concrete for 5 months
    Alcohol: 13.0 % alc
