Halliday's favourite Riesling since his teens!

Ashbrook Estate Margaret River Riesling 2018

We love ourselves some quality Riesling here at Covert HQ and today's wine has been our pick over the last couple of months.

Hailing from almost 40 year old vines in Western Australia's Margaret River region, the 2018 Ashbrook Estate Riesling is an absolute stunner. It's choc-full of vibrant freshly cut citrus (think lemon, lime & grapefruit), it's intense yet so light and delicate and the length just seems to goes on and on. This is seriously good Aussie Reisling that's an absolute steal at $22.99 a bottle.

Don't just take our word for it, James Halliday says it "has been a favourite Australian riesling since my teens..." (94 points) and James Suckling describes it as "a beautiful riesling..." when awarding it 95 points.

Tasting Note
A pristinely clear rim, bright straw in colour with hues of green. Made purely from free run juice, this elegant yet full flavoured wine has an abundance of floral character on the nose and palate balanced by zesty citrus flavour and crisp clean mineral acidity. The complexity and structure of this Riesling ensures terrific cellaring potential.

Reviews
"This is a beautiful riesling with sliced-lime and stone character. Flint, too. Full-bodied and dry. Beautiful finish. So much going on. Clear and vivid. Hello Alsace.... Drink now."
95 points - James Suckling

"Hand-picked and planted on a north-facing slope to maximise the virtues of the maritime climate, this has been a favourite Australian riesling since my teens although the pH could do with a calming hand. All free-run, a stream of quince and ripe citrus tones are flecked with ginger candy. The finish is long and mineral-defined"
