The Goon Tycoons have struck rosé gold again with the smashing Rapunzel (Rapunzel, let down your golden hair!) from Pemberton in WA. A copper-coloured single vineyard blend of Chardonnay, Merlot, Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir (because, why not?) this is super fragrant, with rose petals and stone fruits galore, and a classic mineral edge. It’s dry but juicy and textural: a field blend you can let your hair down with! This wine’s tasting notes are leaning towards medium bodied, low sweetness, with medium acidity, very fruity, low tannins, medium alcohol and no oak.

It’s a stunning wine to pair with loads of picnic and al fresco dining classics; it works with pasta salads, anything with olives, anchovies, and sundried tomatoes, and with pork pies, chicken pastries, and charcuterie and strong cheeses, it’s going to be especially good with duck and lamb salads, tuna steaks and salmon fillets, and quiches featuring cheese, ham, and greens like broccoli.
